Mostly Central Asia, Afghanistan, the Caucasus, FSU in general, and occasionally the wider Middle East and China. Plus a few other eclectic tidbits. I have traveled throughout quite a bit of the former Soviet Union and have an MA in Central Eurasian Studies.
I am into Indo-Iranic people, Turks of all kinds, the people of the Caucasus, Eurasian languages, Turko-Persian culture and history, the international relations of the former Soviet Union, Arsenal Football Club, BYU football, house, nu-jazz/funkstep, and nu-disco, watching cartoons with my my two year old son, classical liberalism, christian anarchism and christian existentialism, all kinds of theology, and snark. Linguistically, I speak very good French, and middling Russian, Uzbek, and Turkish. Feel free to ask me anything, but please be nice.
